Circle of Security looks at the relationship between parent and child as a circle. On the top of the circle is the child’s need to explore. At the bottom of the circle is the child’s need to be protected. The parent is at both the top and the bottom of the circle, guiding the child out to explore and allowing the child to come back in when they feel scared or need comforting.
This program is considered by many to be the Gold Standard of parenting programs for younger children. It helps parents form strong attachments to their children and helps them understand the reasons for challenging behaviour.
We have a limited number of places in this program, run in partnership with Barnardos family centre, which will be held at Auburn Community Health Centre, starting on October 17th and going up until 5th December, 2018.
We only have a few places left, and registration in this program is essential. In order to attend, you must register by calling Sonika on 96377600.
