Cumberland Multicultural Community Services was first established by in 1977 as the ‘The Holy Family East Granville Multicultural Centre’.
In order to meet the growing needs of the general community and to be eligible for government funding, in 1981 the centre became independent from the church and became an incorporated association.
In 1996, the name was changed to Granville Multicultural Community Centre Inc. and services spread to include surrounding areas, including Parramatta, Holroyd and Auburn.
In 2017, we changed our trading name to Cumberland Multicultural Community Services in recognition of the broader geographical area in which we work.
During the time we have been working with this incredible community, we have moved several times to multiple locations throughout Granville
Over 40 years, we have developed new and innovative programs, identified gaps in services and found ways to work effectively in challenging circumstances, all whilst maintaining our longstanding commitment to working with families, children and residents.
As an organisation who specialises in working closely with multicultural communities, and working with families and children, one of the projects we are particularly proud of is "After The Birth - A Celebration of Post Natal Care" Click here to enjoy the resources that arose from that project.
